Futures Flow

Futures Flow and a TradingView COT workflow

Futures Flow emphasizes cross-market positioning analytics and dated narrative reports. A TradingView workflow centers on charts and indicators. The better fit depends on whether your question concerns broad exposure patterns or how positioning relates to a specific price chart. This guide is written by Futures Flow.

When does a chart-first workflow make sense?

If your working environment is a price chart, reviewing a positioning series alongside it can keep your analysis in one place. TradingView hosts indicators and scripts; availability and definitions depend on the selected script and account. Review script documentation and the current platform offering before treating any implementation as equivalent to a CFTC report.

When does Futures Flow help?

Use Futures Flow to investigate participant categories, normalized positioning and cross-market PCA/UMAP patterns. The public market pages identify the date and show Legacy exposure by trader category. Weekly reports provide historical narrative context, and methodology pages explain analytical limitations.

How can the workflows be compared fairly?

Start from a matching CFTC market and observation date. Confirm the participant category, calculation, lookback and coverage. Similar-looking plots can represent different series. Neither workflow turns delayed weekly exposure into a validated intraday trading signal. See TradingView’s current product documentation for platform capabilities.
